Christopher H. Manor, 72, of Bartlett passed away June 9, 2024.
Beloved husband of 51 years to Colleen (nee Finneran). Loving father of Christopher (Sara), Joseph, and Nicole Wyler (Chris). Cherished grandfather of Ella, Lucy, and Logan. Dear brother of Lisa Klujewski (Roman) and Laura LaDuke (John).
Chris was born July 31, 1951 in Chicago to the late Frank Manor and the late Jean Christian (nee Wojtkiewicz). He is survived by his loving aunt, Lillian Wilson and preceded in death by his devoted mother-in-law Ruth Finneran (nee O’Connell).
Chris will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, caring man who managed to make everyone feel special in his presence. He was known for his infectious chuckle, a sense of wonder that followed him in his many travels and could often be overheard having some the best conversations with himself. He was renowned for his internal GPS, which often led him to a fish fry. Chris was rarely seen without a beloved dog by his side and a pocket full of biscuits.
Chris graduated from James B. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates in 1969. He spent his long career in the construction industry building roads and bridges. He enjoyed his years as a hockey dad and cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, and Cubs.
Chris will be deeply missed by his many, many in-laws who considered him their own brother, and nieces and nephews who ran to greet him at every chance. His friends will miss knowing he was always there for them, especially Earl Kastning.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 17 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road, Bartlett. A prayer service is scheduled at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Chris’s name to the American Cancer Society or a favorite animal charity.
