Chris Xavier Habisohn, 64, passed away on June 21, 2025. Born on February 1, 1961, Chris lived a life marked by faith, intellect, and boundless kindness.
A devout Catholic, Chris was a daily Mass communicant and frequently attended Eucharistic Adoration, finding solace and strength in his deep spiritual life. His commitment to his faith was a cornerstone of his character, inspiring those around him.
Chris earned a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and went on to achieve a Ph.D. in Physics from The University of Chicago. For over 40 years, he served as the lead engineer at Power Electronics Intl. Inc., where his brilliance and dedication left a lasting impact on the field.
Known for his gentle and generous spirit, Chris was cherished by his nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews, who regarded him as one of the kindest uncles imaginable. His warmth, patience, and selflessness touched countless lives.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Victor, in 2013. He is survived by his mother, Mary and 5 siblings.
Visitation and Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood, IL 60107. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 400 Fulton St., Elgin, IL 60120. Interment will follow at St. Michael The Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, IL 60067.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mary Catholic Church in Chris’s memory. His legacy of faith, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
