Choummaly Athanaxay

Choummaly Athanaxay, 85, of Elgin passed away on January 30, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Saykham Athanaxay; loving mother of Sourichanh, Thavisanh, Souphaphanh, Banhdane, Souphaphone, Bounthieng, and the late Phaivanh; proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Choummaly enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a social butterfly with a good sense of humor.

Funeral will be held on Saturday February 8, 1:00pm until time of cremation 3:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road), Bartlett. Following services cremation will take place at Countryside Crematory.
