Charles Walte

October 31, 1941 — May 7, 2013

Charles Walte III, born and raised in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 7 at the age of 71. He started his higher education at Centre College and graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in economics. He worked in data processing for many years which allowed him to travel to many unique places, including England and Canada. He was a loving father, an enthusiastic coach, an avid lover of a mystery, a fan of all sports except professional basketball, a cunning wordsmith who made his own aphorisms, a constant reader, a crossword puzzle addict, an office supply aficionado, and always the life of the party with his creative sense of humor. In his search for the meaning of all things, he can now find peace.

He is warmly remembered by his wife, Marguerite (nee Nicolson); his children Chance (Caitlyn Howell), Samantha (Ryan Dixon) and Elliot; his grandchildren Collyn and Calliope; his sister, Sandra Teague (late Carroll); and his nephews John Teague (Dennard), James Teague, and Carroll Teague III (Ellen).

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home and crematory 333 South Roselle Rd. (1/2 mile South of Irving Park Rd.) in Roselle, Illinois, with a short service at 7 p.m. Following his service Charlie will be cremated privately at the Countryside Crematory. Charlie always said, “When I die, take all the money and throw a big party!” so following the service, his friends and family are invited back to his home for a Charlie-style party.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to Western DuPage Special Recreation Association, 116 N. Schmale Rd., Carol Stream, IL 60188.
