Charles Rose
October 8, 1958 — August 25, 2023
Charles (Charlie) L Rose, age 64, passed away on August 25, 2023 after a sudden, tragic incident on August 18 on a Lake Michigan tour boat while visiting his beloved hometown of Chicago with his brother Steve.
Charlie was born on October 8, 1958 to James and Adele Rose of Northbrook, Illinois where he lived until 1990 when he moved to Sioux Falls, SD. He attended Glenbrook North High School and the University of Southern Illinois. Charlie worked in the family business of Shenanigan’s in Sioux Falls for the past 33 years. Charlie was looking forward to retirement and spending relaxing days with his brothers, family and friends. Everyone that met Charlie would agree that he was one of the most kind and genuine persons that they had the privilege to know. He loved the Chicago sporting teams including the Bears, Blackhawks, Cubs and the White Sox. He hated the Packers. He loved vacations to beaches, lakes, camping, the Caribbean or just about anywhere else as long as his family was with him. He was loyal to his friends to a fault and would give them whatever support he could. For those that have had the honor to know him, everyone would certainly agree that Charlie was truly one of a kind the likes which we will never meet again.
Charlie will be laid to rest by his parents, James( (Jim) and Adele (Lovey) Rose in Skokie, IL. Also preceded in death by close family friends, Bernice and Earl Corning. Grateful to have shared his life are brothers Don (Jean ) Rose, and Steve (Angela) Rose.
