Charles Holder

Charles William Holder, 86, of South Elgin, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2022. He was born in Valier, IL on February 17, 1935 to William Albert and Dora Alice (nee Wheeler) Holder. Charles passed peacefully surrounded by his family whom had the privilege of caring for him at home during his final earthly days. He was blessed to have his granddaughter Tonia, a registered nurse like her grandma, come from Iowa to help with his home care.

Charles served his country in the Army and was in Korea helping with reconstruction as a lineman. He went on to work many years at Chicago Rawhide and Senior Flexonics in supervisory positions. He was a longtime member of the South Elgin Lions Club serving as President as well as other positions. He was also a member at Calvary Baptist Church of Elgin. Charles married the love of his life, the late Donna Rae Eyster in Dixon, IL on October 4, 1959. Beloved father of Nita (Richard) Springer and Mary Conte; dear grandfather of Marissa (Ben) Wilson, Mandy (Antonio) Molose, Michael (Vanessa) Springer, and Tonia Conte; proud great grandfather of Nataly, Ariana, Nick, Matthew, Billy, Alivia, Ella, Madison, Bella, Parker, and Neos; dear brother of Jim (Debbie) Holder, the late Emma (the late Frank) Carnaghi, the late Georgianna (the late Peter) Finger, the late Sara "June" (the late Clarence) Cox, and the late Jerry (Elaine). Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Saturday, February 19 from 9:00am until time of service 11:00am at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert St. (at State St.), South Elgin. Interment South Elgin Cemetery. Info (847)289-8054
