It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Thomas Ferris, a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on October 6, 2026, at the age of 48.
Born in Melrose Park, Illinois, on August 19, 1978, Charlie grew up in Franklin Park with his family that cherished love, laughter, and togetherness. He is survived by his beloved parents, Thomas and Brenda, who filled his life with endless encouragement and support. He leaves behind his admired brother, Thomas, Jr., sister-in-law Sandra, Renee Mielzynski and Jennifer Campeotto who were like sisters to him, and Timothy and Jonathan Ferris to whom he was their cherished uncle. Charlie was the adored grandson of Marguerite and Ralph Kramer, Martha and Virgil Smith, and the beloved nephew to Janet (Phil) Campeotto, Elizabeth Ann (Glenn) Sturgeon, Debra (Bob) Cissell, and Lori Walker. He was also a dear cousin to many, whose connections he treasured greatly.
For the past 15 years, Charlie was the Store Room Supervisor and Transportation Coordinator at UTC Overseas Inc. in Elk Grove Village where his dedication and leadership made a lasting impact on the company and his co-workers. Outside of work, Charlie was a avid bowler who competed in multiple tournaments in each year, while actively participating in three leagues and often subbing in others. His love for sports began early with youth baseball and soccer and extended to his unwavering support of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Blackhawks. Charlie's joy in life came from these passions as well as the time he spent with family and friends, making a lifetime of memories.
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather for visitation at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations may be made in Charlie's name to the American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org/en/affiliates/illinois or the American Diabetes Association, https://diabetes.org/ .
Charles "Charlie" Ferris touched the lives of everyone he met, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say our final goodbyes, we remember Charlie for his kindness, enthusiasm, and enduring love for those around him.
