Catherine Matthews, 86, of Medinah, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Born September 11, 1924 in Chicago. She was the daughter of Elmer and Margaret (nee Miller) Nyquest. A secretary for Just Manufacturing for over 40 years. Catherine was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for VFW Post 7746 and enjoyed playing Bingo.
Survivors include son John; daughter Mary (Rodney) Burkes and grandchildren Christopher, Andrew and Carrie.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Margaret and her parents.
Visitation Friday, May 20, 2011 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 333 S. Roselle Rd (1/2 mile south of Irving Park), Roselle. Funeral Saturday, 9:30a.m. going to St. Walter Catholic Church, Mass 10:00a.m. Interment St. Michael Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to USO of Illinois Administrative HQ, 333 S. Wabash Ave., 16th Flr., Chicago, IL 60604.
