On January 25, 2023 Carrie Dahlstrom, loving and caring wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt passed away at the age of 63 from stage 4 colon cancer.
Carrie was born on January 23, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Barbara Mercurio.
Carrie was preceded in death by her mother Barbara and her paternal grandparents, Charles and Santina Mercurio and her maternal grandparents, Anne and Stan Sallander and the many cousins who passed too soon.
Carrie is survived by her father Thomas, stepmother Joanne Mercurio, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Amy Mercurio and her husband Scott Dahlstrom, also cousins, nieces and nephews.
She worked in data entry, moved on to department shift supervisor and once again moved on to inside sales.
She worked for her family business while working with another company who was a general contractor in construction. She loved the Village of Roselle and made it her home. Carrie became a Village of Roselle Trustee and was also a Vice President, then President of her Homeowners Association. She also volunteered for many committees.
Carrie was a pet lover, loved music and loved going to Michigan as much as possible and had a passion for cooking. She had a great sense of humor and put everyone in front of her. She had a kind and compassionate spirit about her that was contagious. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, for the birth of Jesus Christ and the whole spirit of the holiday. Of course, she decorated every room of the house. She loved getting together with her families and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 3:00-9:00 pm with a short prayer service at 6:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 333 S. Roselle Rd. Roselle, IL 60172.
Carrie would like there to be casual dress and if unvaccinated PLEASE wear a mask. There will be immune compromised people attending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to research for colon, pancreatic and breast cancer.
