Carolyn M. Pentecost

Carolyn M. Pentecost (nee Ballatin), 78, of Elmwood Park, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Born October 11, 1947, in Chicago, Carolyn was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling when she could and exploring the arts, but what she loved most was her family. Beloved Gold Star (2x) wife of the late Charles Nance and Sammie J. Pentecost; loving mother of Todd, Michael (Katie) and Scottie Pentecost; cherished Nana of Savannah and Charlotte (Bethany), Samantha and Madeline (Katie), and Nicholas and Alexander (Dominika); dear daughter of the late Edward and Mary Dolores (nee Nelson) Ballatin; caring sister of Robin Norton and the late Jack, William and Edward; and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visitation 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd, Bartlett. Prayers Thursday 10:30 am going to St. Peter Damian Church (Chapel), Mass 11:00 am. Cremation and Inurnment at Assumption Cemetery will be private following the services.
