Carol Mcnevin

June 12, 1939 — July 16, 2023

Carol McNevin, 84, of Streamwood, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16th with her loving family by her side. Carol is a beloved Wife to Ed; loving Mother to the late Terri McNevin; Patti (the late Kevin) Stockwell, Mary (Carl) Paulson and Kelly (the late Pat) Switzer. Cherished Grandmother of Tom and Joe Switzer; Austin, Ryan (Emily) and Tyler Paulson. Adoring Great-Grandmother of Annebelle, Joe Jr. and Ella. Dear Sister of the late Micheal, Joe, Tony, Margie and Raymond Grana. Daughter to the late Michael and Carmella Grana; Loving Sister and Brother in Law’s and a very special Aunt to all her nieces and nephews; and so many amazing friends that she truly cherished.

Carol graduated from Austin High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1959. She was Captain of the Girls Basketball team, President of the High School Newspaper and a very gifted artist. Carol received 13 honorable mentions from the Chicago Art Institute.

Carol and I met over 68 years ago. I called her every Saturday asking for a date until she finally said yes. After our first date, I asked her to marry me. We celebrated our 64th Wedding Anniversary this last January 17th, 2023. Carol and I were blessed with four beautiful baby girls. I found out very early in our marriage that Carol only knew one way to love and that was with all her heart. She loved working with everyone and loved to help anyone that was in need of help.

Carol worked at a bank together with my two cousins, Connie and Carol. After several years she found an interest in Real Estate. She studied very hard and received her license after the first attempt. There was no stopping Carol once she received her license. During her time Carol sold over a million dollars in sales.

Carol’s faith and love for God was second to none. She retired from Real Estate and started her rosary bead business, Angel Clouds. She would receive flowers from a person whose family member or friend had passed and made a rosary out of the flowers. The demand for the rosary grew into a successful business that helped so many celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

She became a professional clown (Careless the Clown) which brought laughter and joy to all who watched her shows. She would entertain people of all ages with magic and balloon animals. She became a clown just to show love and laughter can help heal anyone.

She did all of this and raised four beautiful daughters. There was no end to her love for everyone she came in contact with. She always made time for anyone who needed her help. As Carol’s health started to fail she went into partnership with our daughter (Patti Stockwell) who will continue the legacy of Angel Clouds.

It’s not hard to talk about Carol, all her love went to anyone she came in contact with. Most of all she served God with all her heart.

Celebration of Carol's life will be held on Saturday, July 22nd, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 S. Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL 60103, with a prayer service at 4:00 pm. For information: 630-289-7575
