Carol-Ann M. Jean, 83, of Roselle, IL passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023. Carol was born January 29, 1940 in Westbrook, Maine to Loretta and Albert Doyle. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Martin V. Jean; daughter Stephanie J. (Michael J.) Mette; grandsons Brendan Lucente and Zack Mette; sister Janet M. Farr. Carol was ahead of her time, graduating from Westbrook College with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology. After meeting and marrying Martin, they settled in Roselle, IL. She worked at Westlake Hospital for many years, retiring as the head of their laboratory. In 1980, she and Martin added to their family, adopting a child from Taiwan.
Carol loved spending time with her family and vacationed every year in Maine and Massachusetts. She could be found almost every weekend shopping and shared her love of the mall with her daughter. A good cook, you could find Carol in the kitchen preparing family favorites for every holiday. Carol never missed an opportunity to speak a kind word and share anything she had to ensure her family and friends knew how much she loved them.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2023 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 333 S. Roselle Rd. Roselle, IL 60172. Funeral Monday, October 30, beginning with 9:30 am prayers at the funeral home and processing to Saint Walter Catholic Church, 130 W. Pine St. Roselle, IL 60172 for her funeral Mass at 10:00 am.
