Carmela Pettenon

Carmela Pettenon (nee Ciancarelli) 97, born March 7,1924 in Chicago,passed away peacefully Saturday, June 26, 2021. Carmela had a passion for her faith and is now in the hands of Jesus Christ. Carmela enjoyed socializing, shopping and returns, and never left the house without looking her best. She loved her family and showed them the true meaning of family values. Carmela was the Beloved wife of the late John; loving mom of Joanne (Gary) Krauter, John (Cookie) Pettenon, Marilyn (Bruce) Root, Robert (Dana) Pettenon, Richard (Donna) Pettenon and the late Mary Ellen Pettenon; cherished grandma of Laura, Lisa, Jimmy, John, Jennifer, Nicole, Kristen, Lauren, Michael, Gina and Nick; dear great-grandma of Anna, Mitchell, Lucy, Anthony, Mary, Olivia, Louis, Jessica, Johnny, Dominic, Alyssa, Jimmy, Anthony, Michael, Sophia, Vivian, Charlotte, Frankie and Great-Great-Grandma of Stella Rose; caring daughter of the late John and Lucy (nee Giandinato) Ciancarelli and kind sister of the late Grace (Joe) Pomilia. Cremation is private at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, Bartlett. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 30W350 Army Trail Rd, Wayne, IL on Friday, July 23, 2021.
