Carl John Zielke, 78, of Bartlett, IL (Madison, WI) died December 16, 2016. Carl, son of Carl A and Anita (Taylor) Zielke, loving husband of Carol Ann (Nesbit) Zielke, passed away suddenly on December 16th 2016 at his home. He is survived by his wife Carol, three daughters; Caren (Linda Coon), Lisa (Patrick) Huston and Amie (Vince) Lotzer. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Layne, Jeremiah, Heather, Caroline, Karl, Joseph and Sylvia and one great grandchild, Lua Kai, cherished brother Stephen Paul and sister-in-law Ginger Zielke. Carl was born in Madison WI on August 3, 1938, graduated from Madison East High School Class of 1956, he attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated from the Wisconsin Business School class of 1965. He was a member of the Madison Figure Skating Club, the Madison Curling Club, the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corp. Carl worked as a sales and technology manager for ATT until his retirement in 1999. He sincerely loved his family, his many, many friends and neighbors. He shared so much of himself, and was a compassionate, articulate and gentle, loving man. He loved music; playing the Baritone horn, piano and sang bass in many choirs and barbershop quartets for over 70 years, he was a seeker and sharer of knowledge, a master in technology, an avid reader, reciter of poetry and prose. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held this Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N 5th Ave. in St. Charles, IL.
