Carl Voelkel III, age 70, passed away, Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Born September 14, 1939 in Clairton, PA, Carl was the son of Carl Jr. and Anne (nee Skanzel). Carl was a resident of Schaumburg for over 30 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Carl enjoyed traveling to familiar and far away places and making his friends laugh.
Survivors include children Carl IV and Karen (Adam) Schlesinger, granddaughters Caroline, Olivia and Annabel, other family members and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul.
A celebration of his life will be held privately with family and friends. Cremation was private at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd, Streamwood.
