Burton A. Deming, 100, of St. Charles, IL passed away on August 12, 2025. A US Navy
Veteran, Burton was born on December 1, 1924 in Cushing, Oklahoma to his parents
Ralph B. Deming and Ruth Ann Deming nee Schultz.
Burton received several degrees from the University of Oklahoma including Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry, Masters in Education in Guidance and Counseling, and a Masters in Speech Therapy with a minor in Psychology. In 1964 he received a PHD from Michigan State University in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Social Psychology.
Early on in his career, he worked as a Speech Therapist at the Wichita Public School System, Clinical Psychologist at the Flint Mental Health Clinic, and Section Chief Psychologist at the Western Missouri Mental Health Center. For the majority of his career he worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Johnson County Mental Health Center in Mission, KS (32 years) including other positions as Director of Program Evaluation and Director of Clinical Services. He retired from his career in 1999 at the age of 74.
Burton is survived by his wife of almost 66 years Elinor M. Deming nee
Hanson; father of Mark (Georgia nee Panos) Deming and Ann (Jeffrey) Schutte;
grandpa of Heather (fiancé George Outman) Schutte, Jessica Schutte and
Nicole (Joevani) Alcantar. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ruth
and his brothers Raymond and Harry Deming.
A private inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. For information,
