Brian was truly one of a kind. He was born in Massachusetts and moved to the Chicago area in his early childhood. During his formative years, Brian proved to be a bright student and natural athlete. He attended Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, IL and graduated with a BA in Economics from Northern Illinois University where he was awarded a full golf scholarship. Brian grew up playing golf at Medinah Country Club, often playing in the Club Championship and winning the annual Father & Son Tournament numerous times. He traveled the United States playing and placing in prestigious amateur golf tournaments. As an adult and scratch golfer, he joined Calumet Country Club and continued his amateur play. He was Calumet’s Club Champion three years. Brian had a deep love and sincere respect for the sport and all that it represented… honor, integrity, commitment, etc.

Beyond golf, Brian was a true sports aficionado whose knowledge was unparalleled. He could regularly be found watching whatever sporting event was currently playing. He also personally excelled at most any game or sport from poker and backgammon, to pool, bowling, tennis – you name it! Brian loved movies and music, particularly the poignant songs of his favorite group, Underworld. Brian was also quite the philosopher – sharing his unique perspective and beliefs with friends and family. His thoughtful contributions were always an inspiration. He was a huge animal lover and the faithful companion to a host of past and present dogs and cats. Brian was a very spiritual being who believed in the greater plan of the universe.

Perhaps most of all, Brian was the devoted friend to a slew of individuals lucky enough to have crossed his path. He was the glue that held his friends together. He was always there with a helping hand or encouraging word. You could always count on him to be there when you needed him. Brian’s effervescent spirit and vibrant blue eyes always lit up a room. He was a colorful character - animated, clever and quick-witted. In short, he was an amazing and endearing source of entertainment.

Brian’s essence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he was taken much too soon, he leaves his legacy and an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched. He will be missed dearly, but his presence will surely be felt for years to come. The pain of such a loss is only tempered by the joy of knowing he is with God, his adoring mother and his precious pets. His was a personality that comes along once in a lifetime and you were proud to have known a man of his stature. God bless you, Streets and thank you for all the wonderful memories. You are loved more than words can say.
