Brian M. Saldivar, 56, of South Elgin, died Friday, March 22, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was born on September 17, 1967 in Fort Benning, Georgia. A dedicated nurse, Brian last worked at Advocate Sherman hospital in Elgin, IL. Brian was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs as well as taking part in fantasy baseball and football. He was a voracious reader who enjoyed fantasy and sci-fi novels. Brian enjoyed southwestern art and culture, and frequently visited Sedona. He loved Disney, Jimmy Buffett and spending time with his family. Brian is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen; children Zachary, Grant and Jules; brothers Adam (Melinda) Fisher, Blake (Alison) Edidin, Teddy (Brooke) Saldivar, Todd Saldivar and Trent Saldivar; sisters Leslie (Josh) Koenig, Paige Edidin-Chavez and Tara (Chris) Saldivar and biological father Edward Saldivar. He is proceeded in death by his parents Carey and Nancy Edidin and sister Julie Fisher. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, South Elgin.
