Betty J. O’Connor, 86, of Streamwood, IL passed away on October 8, 2025. Born on February 5, 1939 in Merrick, NY to her parents Harry and Augusta Dewald. In her younger years, Betty was a Rockette and the lead baton twirler in the Rose Parade.

Betty is the beloved wife of 35 years to the late James O’Connor; loving mother of Linda (Gorges Kako) Ziebell, William (Katherine) Watts, Brian (Jennifer) O’Connor and Cathleen (Mark) Gourley; cherished grandmother of James Ziebell, Rebecca Alfredson, Thomas (Kim) Ziebell, Shannon Watts, Eric Watts, Mark (Kayla) Gourley, Joanna Gourley, Colin (Kelsey) O’Connor and Shane O’Connor; great-grandmother of Brianna, Ethan, Samantha, Gracelynn, Lilianna, Jacob, Joshua, Connor and Christopher and great-great grandmother of Elliott and Easton; dear sister of Edith Jakes, Albert Dewald and Raymond Dewald.
