Betty Marie Lhotak
 
 Age 95 lately of Clare Oaks in Bartlett IL passed away on February 4, 2021.
 
 She was born in Chicago to Marie and Joseph Fiala. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class of Farragut HS and loved playing the piano. She lived for many years in Wood Dale and then Addison Illinois.  She and husband Bill built their home in Wood Dale.  They always had a garden that she loved.  She helped organize many Farragut reunions including the 55th.  Predeceased by her husband William Lhotak, sisters Otilla Pritchett and Mildred Shanks and brother Joseph Fiala Jr.  Betty is survived by her daughter Carol Newcomb (Joseph Alutto) and son Roger Lhotak (Mary), three grandchildren, Heather (David) Kuck, Angie Lhotak and Greg Lhotak and 4 great grandchildren, Thomas, Sean, Aubrey and Joel Kuck and her long time neighbor/daughter Mary Ann Spina.
 
 She helped start the Wood Dale Library when it was a small room in the Wood Dale VFW, and helped build the new library on Irving Park road where she volunteered for many years.  When the new library on Wood Dale Road was built she worked there also.  She loved the library and the many others who worked there.  On her retirement they celebrated Betty Lhotak Day.  She and Bill are remembered for the many cookouts/picnics at their home in Wood Dale for family and friends.
 
 Visitation Thursday, February 18th, 9:00 am until time of prayer and remembrance beginning at 11:00 am at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 S. Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett, il. 60103.  Interment Bohemian National Cemetery.
 
 Donations/contributions may be made to the Wood Dale Public Library (https://www.wooddalelibrary.org) or Alzheimers Association.
 
 A memorial service will be held at a later time.
