Benjamin Alan Fulham was born on November 5th 2022 at Christ Medical Center in Oaklawn. Benji was the beloved son of Patrick and Jennalyn Fulham. He was born 15 weeks premature and was diagnosed with medical conditions that he faced at birth. As a sick child and a fighter, he had aggressively gone through care plans to get him home but god had other plans. On August 8th 2023, Benji had passed away and was able to rest after 9 months fighting his conditions.
Benji was known by his family as the baby with many expressions. He had shown in his pictures to make many faces that were "meme worthy". He had a lovable charm and developed chubby roles and baby fat that he did not have when born. Benji had been born thin and small. Small enough to fit in your hand. However, he had gotten bigger and shaped out to be a beautiful baby boy with long eyelashes and a double chin. His only concerns were the conditions that caused him to go through intensive treatment. As he had progressed, Benji had a tracheostomy and had been provided multiple medications for pain, discomfort, sleep, and more. Even though he was under certain stresses, he had still provided us all with his smile and humor as he always shared that he hates milestones, loves the ceiling, dislikes when his parents leave and always liked to have his girlfriends near by (aka nurses).
Benji had spent approximately 6 months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and 3 months in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) where he was cared for by many staff members. He was provided much support from the nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, and more. Each one of them had influenced the future for Benji while he also made a long lasting impression on them. Benji had the daily support of his mother and routine support from his father. They both loved Benji very much and prayed for his health.
It is unfortunate for the family to suffer such loss. As on August 8th at 5:44PM, Benji had passed away in his mother's arms. As the parents will continue their lives with this loss, they will miss their son while knowing he is in a better place and any hardship he fought along can be forgotten in the past. As Benji stays at the side of god and the angels in heaven, Patrick and Jenna will stay at the side of the families and friends that wish the best for Benji and will see him in the distant future. Although Benji's life was short, he had still made a life times worth of influence on the hearts and the minds of his parents and those around him. He will forever be in our hearts.
