With heavy hearts but deep gratitude for the time we had, we share the passing of Barbara J Freier on March 17, 2025, at the age of 67. While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the warmth, laughter, and kindness she brought into our lives.
Born on September 10, 1957, in Chicago, IL, Barb had a way of making the ordinary feel extraordinary. A moment with her wasn't just a moment - it was a celebration, filled with laughter, warmth, and the kind of joy that lingers. Her generosity knew no limits, whether she was lending a hand, creating something beautiful, or simply sharing a laugh (which happened often). To know Barb was to feel truly seen, cherished, and deeply loved.
Barb was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and she leaves behind a family who adored her: her siblings Mary Freier, Joan Kavooras, Patti Clarida, and Larry Freier (Denise); her nieces and nephews Jason, Eric, Daniel, Julie, Kelly, and Lindsey; and several great-nieces and nephews, including her beloved great-niece Savannah, who was the light of her life. She also held a special place in her heart for her dear family Connie and Larry, and her closest friends KK, Cathy, and Laura, who were like family to her. She is reunited in peace with her parents, Rosemary and Larry Freier Sr.; her sister Sue Johnson; her nephew Matthew Koch; and her brother-in-law, Steve Kavooras.
Barb’s spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter she inspired, and the countless lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in her honor at www.mda.org, ensuring that her kindness and generosity continue to make a difference.
Rest easy, Barb. Your light will always shine.
