Ashutosh Riswadkar

Ashutosh V. Riswadkar, 76, of Schaumburg, IL passed away on May 29, 2024.  He is the beloved husband for 49 years to Alka; loving father of Amol (Mona) Riswadkar and Amit (Anisha) Riswadkar; cherished grandfather of Arjun and Anand and grand-dog-father to Ginger and Wally.

He came to the US for his Master’s degree in the 1970s in Oklahoma and lived in Chicago for over 40 years. He worked at Zurich Insurance for 25 years as a Risk Engineer. He was passionate about continuously learning and sharing information about new technologies and insurance risk, sharing information. During his career, he was a great mentor and resource for his team. He also recently reconnected with friends from his undergraduate and master’s degrees, which led to many fun trips together with those friends.

In his free time, he played bridge and gardening. He found great satisfaction in ensuring his yard was verdant and beautiful! He enjoyed making photo calendars and photo books for his children and grandchildren to enjoy, playing cards and board games, and he found shamelessly cheating at card games with his grandkids to be especially fun! He was very involved with Swadyay and the Marashtra Mandal of Chicago.

He was an extremely principled and loyal man. He was inseparable from his wife, you would always see them together whether it was running errands or visiting friends. He was a great source of support and encouragement to his children, and he was a steadfast friend to all who knew him.
