Arthur Maschio

Arthur Bob Maschio, 95, of Medinah, IL, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020. Art was born and raised in Chicago IL. In his early years, he joined the Army and was a Korean War Veteran before beginning a life long career as an Optician, spending over 25 years with Sears & Roebuck as an Optician and Store Manager. After retiring from Sears, he didn’t want to be idle, so he took a job as an usher at Arlington Park Race Course where he liked to make sure all his guests had a great experience, and when he could, watch the horses run. Art liked to spend his free time landscaping and gardening, and was always happiest when he was outside in the fresh air, working on his yard. He also loved bird watching, and built many birdhouses that enticed a variety of birds into the trees so he could observe them from his patio. Art was the beloved husband of Lois (nee Russell); loving father of Arthur Jr., Theresa Damato (Tim Wagner), and Marianne (David) Paredes; proud grandfather of Nico Damato, Kaylee Laverty, and Maycee Paredes; fond brother of the late Rudolph J. (Leila) Maschio and the late Geneva (the late Robert) Mares. Private funeral services and cremation at Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory.
