Arthur “Lyle” Bloomfield a resident of Elgin for over ten years. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Phyllis (nee Morgan) of Elgin; children Anita (Frank) Baker of West Chicago, Diane Bloomfield of Elgin, Dale Bloomfield of Glen Ellyn and Craig Bloomfield of Arlington Heights; grandchildren John (Kate) Baker and Alan Bloomfield; stepgrandchildren Andrea Powers and Meghan (Ross) Richardson; sister Wilma (Richard) Weisz of Bryan, Ohio, brother Leonard (Sarah) Bloomfield of Lakeland, Florida, sister-in-law of Betty Bryant of Elkhart, Indiana and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter–in-law, Sharron “Beth” Bloomfield.
  
  Born July 29, 1922 in Rochester, N.Y. to the late Arthur E. and Florice (nee Simmons) Bloomfield, Lyle passed away May 19, 2011 at Tower Hill Healthcare Center in South Elgin.
  
  Lyle was a degreed mechanical engineer. During World War II, he worked on transmitters and receivers for aircraft. He moved to Illinois in the early 1950’s. Over the course of his career, he was employed by many companies, including Barber-Greene, Caterpillar, International Harvester, Groen and G.D. Searle & Co.
