Arlene Eisenbraun

June 30, 1931 — February 21, 2024

Arlene Louise Eisenbraun, 92, of Hanover Park, IL passed away on February 21, 2024 surrounded by her four children.  Arlene was born on June 30, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Dorothea Peters. Arlene was a devout Lutheran, she was baptized on July 26, 1931 at Jehovah Lutheran Church, Chicago and confirmed on March 25, 1945 at Jehovah Lutheran Church. Her confirmation verse was

Psalm 16:11  New King James Version

You will show me the path of life;

In Your presence is fullness of joy;

At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.



Arlene attended Messiah and Jehovah Lutheran Schools, graduating from Jehovah in 1945. For High School, she attended Luther and Concordia High School and graduated from Concordia in 1949. She attended the Concordia Teachers College, RF, graduating in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.



Arlene taught at several schools during her career as a teacher. She worked at St. Paul Lutheran School in Addison, St. Paul Lutheran School in Melrose Park, Immanuel Lutheran School in Elmhurst, St. John Lutheran School in Schaumburg and several daycare centers. She truly loved teaching all of her students. She served as a Social Studies teacher and instructor, she was a Choir member, youth leader, an organist, a vacation Bible study Director, Bible study leader and an Election Judge.

Most of all, Arlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She married the love of her life, Arnold Eisenbraun, on June 19, 1955 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Addison, IL. They were blessed with four wonderful children: Debra (Loy) Casas, Marcia (Clarence, Jr.) Harrington, Paul (Teresa) Eisenbraun, and Scot (Jennifer) Eisenbraun; grandchildren: Mark, Dana (Michael) Nelson, Heidi (Daniel) Acosta, Patrick Harrington, Kirsten, Kellan, Brendan (Natalie) Eisenbraun, Nicole (Tony) Navarro, Chris, Katie, Jessica, Myles, and Nate Eisenbraun; great-grandchildren: Noelle, Caleb, Micah and Beckett Navarro, Connor Casas, Nolan and Audrey Nelson, Scarlett and Kolton Acosta, Mi’Lanni and Lei’Oni Harrington, Addie Regalia and Cameron Decker.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, one daughter Lisa Eisenbraun; one granddaughter; her sister Elda Brendle and her brother Walter Peters, Jr.

She will be missed by so many.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 5-8 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Rd. Roselle, IL 60172. Funeral will be on Monday, February 26, 2024 10:00 am with the service beginning at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church 405 S. Rush St., Roselle.  Interment will be held later that day at 2:00 pm at St. Luke Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
