Anton Pavelka

Anton V. Pavelka, 76 of Elgin, formerly of LaGrange Park, died Sunday, November 26, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Born February 14, 1947 in Berwyn. Anton was an educator of 35 years for the Chicago Public Schools in many different programs including art, photography, driver’s education, and Hospital Homebound. He enjoyed many things including 16MM film, trains, boating and of course art and photography. Anton was also known for his eclectic taste in music where he especially enjoyed The Beatles, Bob Marley and the Wailers and disco. He will be missed by his family and friends. Beloved husband of 50 years to Deborah Pavelka; loving dad of Kristin (Jim) Balsamo and Vanessa Pavelka; cherished grandpa of Isabella Balsamo; dear son of the late Anton J. and Yarmilla Pavelka and proud dog dad of Rosalee and the late Dayzee, Candice Cane and Brig-ette. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 95 S Gilbert St (at State St), South Elgin. Funeral Tuesday 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
