Born December 9, 1922 he passed away on December 29, 2015. In remembrance of an absolutely wonderful human being, Anthony was one of three children born in Chicago to his parents Paul and Jennie Cittadino. While growing up Tony was an avid sports person. He played in the City Championships for both Horseshoes and Ping Pong and was proud to have done it. Growing up on the North Side made him a Cubs fan. He would boast about getting passes from the newspaper and taking a trolley car to the game. To know Tony, you would know he had Chicago blood and loved all the sports teams dearly. Tony was also proud of attending Our Lady of Angels school. After graduation, Tony joined the service where he proudly served during WWII. Returning home from serving his country, he met and married his wife of 60 years, Eileen Riley on Feb. 19, 1949.
During their marriage that had 5 children which survive him, Bernadette, Joseph, Eugenia "Jennie", Sean and Sullivan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Peter Rail, Angela (Scott) Ziegler, Benjamin Rail, Tina (Eric) Ziegler and Sam (Andra) Rail, great grandchildren Carlos Saavedra, Cade, Zane and Lucas Ziegler, Aurora and Bodhi Rail.
A devoted family member to all, he worked as a supervisor at Victor Adding Machines for 30+ years. Afterwards Tony finished his career at Toastmasters. It didn't take long for him to realize retirement wasn't for him and he worked multiple jobs until he was into his late 70's.
Out of the workplace he was a symbol of excellence that supported his family unconditionally with great pride. Tony set the bar high and was a great example for family and friends to follow. After his wife Eileen passed in 2009, Tony decided to head West to California, take in the great weather and sights, and live the bachelor life with his sons Sean and Sullivan which was a treasured time for all three of them. He was a healthy person his whole life and it wasn't until this year that time caught up to him. He was blessed with a rather quick decline of health which resulted in his passing peacefully, feeling the eternal love of all close to him.
