The family of Anne E. Miller (Wehner), of Bartlett, IL, is saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at the age of 80 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald, of 61 years; children, Tammy (Felix), Donald Jr. (Amy), Karl (Laura); grandchildren, Carrie (Richard), Kevin, Jennifer (Dereck), Thomas (Belen), Brandon, Zachary, Andrew, Alexander; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, Karl & Anna Wehner; siblings, John Wehner, Mary Jobst.
Anne was born in Gottingen, Germany, who at age nine, fled the country with her family to America following the devastations of World War II. Despite the challenges and adversities with moving to a foreign country, she adapted quickly. The rule of the house was to speak "only English" as they were now Americans.
She married her high school sweetheart, Donald, in 1961. Married 61 years, they’ve had a full and rewarding life together, being successful business owners, vegetarians and very health conscience. Together they had an active lifestyle, competing in numerous running challenges, long walks, stair climbing and weekly horseshoes club.
Anne was a dedicated mother with unconditional love. She treasured her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. A loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. Some considered her a 2nd mom. She was the most giving and unselfish person imaginable, truly one of a kind.
Anne loved spending time with family, reading, decorating their home, sewing, long walks, nature and tropical destinations. Florida was her favorite and she would have moved there, but with one condition, if the entire family moved as well. She'd occasionally say: "Wouldn't it be nice if we all moved to Florida and grew orange trees?"
A ‘Celebration of Anne’s Life’ will be held on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 S. Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Road), Bartlett, IL 60103 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm (service at 7:30 pm).
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Anne to the Alzheimer’s Association.
