Anna Mavros, 84, of Hampshire, died Sunday, July22, 2012. Born September 20, 1927 in Greece. She was the daughter of John and Vasiliki (nee Marantou) Giannakopoulos. Anna enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking.
Survivors include husband of 60 years John; daughter Chrysoula (Menelaos) Zannis and son Miltiades “Milton”; granddaughters Maria-Kanella, Anna and Angeliki; brothers Odyseus (Mahi) and Nicholaos; Sister Demetra; and sister-in-law Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Christos, and brother-in-law Fotis.
Visitation Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 9:30a.m. until time of service 10:00a.m. at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Rd, Elgin. Interment Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
