Ann Pretkelis

Ann M. Pretkelis, nee Wozniak, 75, of Elk Grove Village; wife for 54 years of Walter, mother of Walter Jr. "Wally" (Barbara) and Geoffrey (Jane); grandmother of Neil, Ren, Alexa, Ben and Mallory; sister of Harriet (late Fred) Scott, Irene Wozniak and brother in law Algrid; daughter in law of Emilija Pretkelis; aunt of Fred (Arlene) Scott, Liz Scott, Jim (Lesley) Scott, Margaret (Brett) Rush and Elizabeth Pretkelis. Ann immigrated from Poland at the age of 9. She met her husband, Walter in high school, got married soon after high school and moved to Elk Grove Village to raise their family. She became a valued customer service representative with both Sears and Nordstroms in Woodfield Mall. Ann loved to work in her garden and trips to Wisconsin. She was blessed with many friends. Most of all, it was her family which brought her the most joy. She LOVED being a grandma. She will be missed by many. Cemation will be private at the Countryside Crematory, Bartlett, Il.
