Ann Nitti
April 30, 1925 — July 16, 2025
Ann M. Nitti passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at age 100. Ann was the beloved wife of sixty-eight years to her late husband, Paul A. Nitti; treasured Mom of Paula (Jim) Paolella and Michael Nitti; loving Nonnie to Christine (Sean) Dougherty, Michael (Meredith) Paolella, and Andrea (Thomas) Penicook, and to her great-grand-girls Norah and Ruth Dougherty, Brielle Paolella, and Rosemary Ann Penicook. Ann was preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Loreta Vano and her brother Louis (Nancy) Vano. She was a fond daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, cousin, aunt, and friend to many.
Ann treasured visits from her grandchildren, exchanging cards and notes with friends old and new, and her Sunday afternoon phone call with her dear sister-in-law Louise. She wore a pretty scarf and earrings every day. She baked the perfect pound cake, read the best books, checked the morning news on her tablet, and enjoyed texting with her loved ones. She reminded all of us to keep our minds and hearts open and to take care of each other.
Ann was a woman of faith who knew that her eternal home was with Christ, and she was ready to join her dear husband and so many loved ones who went before her. In her later years she reflected that she could not help others as she wished she could; thus, praying for others became a regular practice for her.
Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, 10:45am, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 427 W. Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale, IL in the chapel (facing Army Trail). Interment private, Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated,
