Ann Cernak

February 24, 1930 — January 14, 2019

Heaven gained another angel !

It is never easy saying goodbye this weekend we will be saying goodbye to Ann Cernak (Auntie Annie). Born February 24th, 1930-deceased January 14th, 2019. For the last 3 years since she had gotten sick and was unable to care for herself and required 24 hr care, she had been living with my Mom and Dad (Diane and Jim) and as a family including myself (Tina) Brian, Austin, Danielle, Christian, we all played a part in caring for her, from feeding her checking on her keeping company when Austin was Home he would watch Auntie Annie and keep her safe at time she would think she had to go to work and would try to walk down stairs! Christian would say “I have to go comfort Auntie” Danielle would sit up there with her and some might say she drove her crazy because Danielle just talked her ear off!! And a special thank you to our friends who also helped when we had something going on or we were out of town! Beth Reiter, Kim, Becca Lynn, Kerri Wilk, Valerie Thompson, Jessica Friedman, Teresa and Jose Limonez! there was not a day that went by she was ever alone we could always count on our friends and family!!
She was the youngest of 7 brothers and sisters, and survived by Rosie Ventura, without having children of her own She was a beloved Aunt to many nieces, and nephews that she treated as her own!
Visitation will be held at Countyside Funeral Home and Crmatory 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.)

Auntie Annie was a very independent, proud woman! She was a class act! She enjoyed spending time with family and children. Anyone who met Auntie Annie would say she was alway smiling and had a heart of gold! She alway made u feel special!! She was full of compliments!!

Auntie Annie was a beautician and directed traffic in the city of Chicago for many years when she retired and moved to the suburbs where she was a crossing guard for school kids. She also helped Diane with her daycare where she had gained more family, the kids and their families all remember Auntie Annie

She was no cook but she tried! You haven’t lived till you had her chicken soup! Lol but u have to give her credit the thought was there! ❤️. Her favorite movie was Moonstruck, we laughed so hard at her laughing we couldn’t even watch the movie!! Her Favorite part of the day was going to jewel, she loved to fill up her cart with cookies, cakes, candy, and bananas for the kids! For someone who lived alone she had the highest grocery bill. 😊.
She will be missed!!
