Anita Cornejo

Anita Cornejo, nee Cabrera, of Schaumburg, formerly of Chicago died May 3, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Andres; loving mother of Ester Barela, Ana Maria (Rodolfo) Jimenez, Gloria (the late Gilberto) Gaytan, Andres (Catherine) Cornejo, Jr., and Diana (Luis Aponte) Cornejo; cherished grandmother of Naomi, Jasmine, and Crystal Barela, Ruben Jimenez, Lydia (Russell) Zirk, Christina Gaytan, Olivia A. Cornejo, Sara M. Chavez, Nicholas J. Chavez, Margarita Aponte, Angelia Aponte, Luis C. Aponte, and Eric Aponte; great grandmother of 15; one of ten siblings; many loving nieces and nephews.

Anita enjoyed crocheting, reminiscing and playing loteria. She will be remembered for her love of the church, her generosity, hospitality and cooking. Who can forget her tortillas de harina and tamales.

Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 3:00-9:00pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd) Streamwood/Schaumburg, service 6:00pm. Funeral Saturday 10:00am. Committal services 12 noon at Resurrection Cemetery. Information 630-289-8054.
