Andrew K. Cherim, of Elgin, Il (Formerly of Elmhurst, IL). Beloved husband Karen R. (nee:Fisher-Ulosovich); loving dad of Heidi (Chris) Miksanek and step dad of Lauren (Tony) Andrea, Jeffrey Ulosovich, Kristen (Vince) Cardinale, Carrie (Michael) Franceour and Megan (Jim Geetersloh) Ulosovich; cherished grandpa of Rudy, Luke, Dannielle, Alyssa, Madison, Kearson, Jeffrey Jr., Zachary and Aidan; fond brother of Alan (Gerrie) Cherim.
Andy's interests were many including refinishing furniture, working in his yard and playing Pinochle with his favorite couple, Marilyn and Bernie Olson. Outdoors he was always putting in rock gardens, planting ornamental grasses or putting pavers or flagstone anywhere he could find a flat surface. Indoors, he enjoyed watching sports & N.C.I.S. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and his favorite all time favorite players were Ron Santo of the Cubs and Walter Payton of the Bears. He served in the Air Force as well.
He laughed a lot, could talk up a storm and knew no strangers. His fondest moments were those spent with family and friends. During the course of his illness, these times became increasingly frequent and even more important to him.
Memorial visitation 3:00pm until time of service 7:30pm. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at The Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd., Bartlett. Cremation was private at The Countryside Crematory. Info (630)289-7575 or www.countrysidefuneralhomes.com
