The Life Of Ammie - Gurbachan Kaur

Ammie was born in the 1920's and was the daughter of Sant Singh Bajwa. Ammie had a number of brothers and sisters. Ammie often told stories of farming and eating with her family. When Ammie became older she married her spouse whose name was also Gurbachan. The two Gurbachans shared life together and gave birth to Surinder Singh.
Ammie faced many hardships, but the greatest one was the partition. She lost everything her family owned and even the majority of all her family. But with family, Ammie pushed through. Ammie & Surinder Singh eventually moved to America, where they continued to strive and live through family and God.
Ammie raised countless generations of children, and instilled the best values into all of us. She ensured that we were healthy, looked after, and disciplined. Through all of her savaeh(services towards others), she was truly granted the title of Ammie.


Ammie left us on May 29, 2019. But her life lessons, teachings, and discipline will live on through us forever
