Alice Stepnik

Alice O. Stepnik nee Dyrdal, 92, of South Elgin, formerly of Streamwood and Chicago, died October 29, 2017. Alice was born on the family farm in Frankfort, Michigan to Ole and Anna Dyrdal. She met Stanley, the love of her life and husband of 73 years, who was serving in the Coast Guard during World War II. After the war they married and moved to Chicago. In 1990, Stanley and Alice moved to Streamwood, where they lived for 25 years before moving to South Elgin.
Alice is the beloved wife of Stanley; loving mother of Joe (Marilyn) Stepnik and the late Lynn (Mike) Henn; cherished grandmother of Kirsten (Jeff) Ingham, Emily (Jim Barry) Cimo-Barry, Lindsey Henn, Joe Stepnik and Molly (Derek DeVinney) Stepnik; proud great grandmother of Andrew, Will and Audrey Ingham, Reagan and Addison Barry; dear sister of the late Hylda, Astrid, Harold, Olaf and Marcus; many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Michigan, Illinois, California, Norway and elsewhere.
Alice was completely devoted to Stanley and to her family all of her life, and always brought love, joy, compassion and appreciation to them, and everyone else she met in her life. She will be dearly missed by all.
