Alice Bertha Porter, nee Harrison, of Elk Grove Village was born August 30, 1932 in Holcomb, Missippi to Charlie and Wade (Adams) Harrison (both deceased.
Alice worked for 38 years as a Certified Surgical Nursing Assistant at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago.
Alice was called to eternal life on Sunday, March 20, 2016.
Beloved wife of the late Willie; loving mother of Annette (Rodney) Turner; cherished grandmother of Anthony (Zan) Turner, Kevin Turner, and Celeste (Kevin) Kempfer; proud great grandmother of Shenice, Brianna, and Jordan Turner, and Jayden and James Kempfer; dear sister of the late Venora Harrison Brown, Glen, Lottie Whirl, Ben, Lee, James, Frank and Otis; aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.
She was a good mother, a strong fighter, and she loved the Lord. Her wish is for everyone to live in peace because life is too short!
Visitation Saturday, March 26, 9:00am until time of service 10:00am at Bethel Baptist Church, 200 N. Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL. Interment Oakridge Cemetery. Information 630-289-8054.
