Alex H. Solovay, 69, of Bartlett and formerly of Hoffman Estates; husband of 27 years to Georgia, nee Boudman; father of Grace (Marc) Witkowski, Stephanie Solovay and Johanna Solovay; papa of Kaitlyn and Isabella; brother in law of Doug (Carol) Boudman and Jeff (Susan) Boudman; uncle of Sarah (Sam), Laura, Marion (Kyle), Arthur (Leah) and Max; preceded in death by his sister Bryna Solovay and his parents Louis and Annette, nee Fox. Alex's faith and spirituality were driving forces in his life. He tried to live by example - always finding the good in people. He served as a deacon for 25 years at Christ Presbyterian Church in Roselle. Over the years he and Georgia adopted 3 Greyhounds. He loved kids for their innocense, resiliency and humor. Alex was known for his own great sense of humor and he had a childlike optimism in the way he saw life. Alex was a true servant to his core, always willing to help someone with no questions asked. The world was truly a better place becuse of him and he will be missed by many.
