Alex S. Duszynski
, age 91, longtime resident of Roselle for 56 years, passed away on April 30, 2025. He was born on November 19, 1933, in Chicago, IL.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Alex was also a dedicated member of Carpenters Local 13 for over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, tackling home improvement projects, golfing, watching and attending sporting events, and traveling. A true South Sider at heart, Alex remained a diehard Chicago White Sox fan—despite having grown up on the North Side.
Alex is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Janet (née Koop); daughters Melissa (Doug) Carnell and Katharine (Ted) Berger; and grandchildren Adam (Annie) Carnell, Lettie (Kellie Paddy) Carnell, Alec (Jena) Carnell, and Ava, Lars, and Drew Berger. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Henry and Poppy Carnell.
He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Drummer, Evelyn (Joe) Blazen, and brothers Kenneth (Mary), Robert (Sandy), and John (Janet) Duszynski, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Alex J. and Bernice (née Susalski) Duszynski; his brother Richard (Irene) Duszynski; his sister Tillie Duszynski; brother-in-law Charles Drummer; niece Audrey (Tom) Wertz; nephew Steven Blazen; and great-nephews Robert Wertz and Steven Cothard.
Cremation was held privately. Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on
