Richard J. Meid, 69 passed away June 25, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Lyn (nee Hrovat); loving father of Kelly (Mike) Brotnow and Steve (Brandy) cherished grandfather of Justin, Kate, Maddie, Jack, Matt, Ethan and Mara; dear brother of Jerry (Alice), Darlene (Robert) Schulte and Tom (Sue); proud and devoted son of the late Roman and Florence; loyal and trusting friend of many. Dick was born in Milwaukee and served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy in Guantanamo Bay and Antarctica. He was a resident of Streamwood for 41 years, a devoted and loving family man, and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and a true gentleman. Memorial visitation Friday July 6, 2012 from 3pm to 9pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd) Bartlett. Memorial mass 10:00am on Saturday, July 7 at St. John the Evangelist Church 502 S. Park Blvd. Streamwood. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory.
