Madeline Clara “Maddie” Aldis, (nee Schudel), age 86, passed away at home with family at her bedside on Sunday June 17, 2012. Maddie was born in Elgin on December 25, 1925. Her parents were Hans and Clara Schudel of Udina. She was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Aldis; loving mother of Cathy Shine and Jackie (the late Trace) Morris; dear sister of Anne(the late Ken) Christensen, Alfred (Suzanne) Schudel, John (Joyce) Schudel and the late Hansie Schudel; cherished grandmother of Michael, Kaitlin, and Kristin Shine, Alex, Grace, and Frances Morris; great grandmother to Camryn Revoir. The Schudel family farmed the area near Nestler Road and Route 20. Maddie lived in the Elgin area her entire life. She devoted her life to God & family; she was a life-long member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school and served in Ladies Aid there for many years. Lying in state Wednesday June 20, 10:00a.m. until time of service 11:00a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1111 Van St. Elgin. Interment following at Udina Cemetery.
