Daniel G. Shorter of Hanover Park, formerly of Streamwood; beloved husband of 46 years to Marlene (nee Mangen); loving father of Sheila McMahon; cherished grandfather of Kirby and Brett; dear brother of Joan Wojtan, Carol (Al) Birkeland, Judee Shorter, Michael Shorter; fond brother in law of Richard (Marge) Mangen, Robert (the late Ann) Mangen and Karen Shorter; many nieces and nephews.

He worked as a letter carrier in Schaumburg for the United States Postal Service for 21 years and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation Friday, March 16th, 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd., (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Funeral Saturday, 9:15 a.m. to Corpus Christi Church. Mass 10:00 a.m. Burial Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations to any Lombard area Parkinson’s support group would be appreciated.
